-   **A terminal**

    SSH, telnet and serial consoles, with tabs, split panes and GPU accelerated rendering.

-   **An SFTP client**

    Files on the connection you already have open, with recursive transfers and drag and drop.

- **An RDP and VNC viewer**

    A Windows box and a Linux box side by side in the same app, tunnelled through SSH.

- **A place to keep servers**

    Folders, tags, a key vault and snippets, all encrypted and all searchable.

-   **An AI agent**

    A panel beside the terminal that reads the session you are looking at and asks before it changes anything.

**Claude Code**Anthropic models

**Codex**OpenAI models

**OpenCode**Any provider you have set up

**Grok Build**xAI models

**Kimi Code**Moonshot models

**Local model**Whatever you have loaded

- **Reads the session you are watching**

    The error on your screen is the one it answers, without you pasting anything.

- **Works in the terminal you can see**

    Commands are typed into the pane and the output stays in your scrollback, or run on a hidden channel if you prefer.

- **Asks before it changes anything**

    An allow list covers the commands that only look, with a stricter or looser mode when you want one.

-   **Pointed where you like**

    The session in front of you, one you pin, or every host you have saved.

-   **Tools instead of guesses**

    Connect a saved host, read and write files, answer a prompt that is already waiting, read the scrollback.

- **Leaves your own machine alone**

    Unless you say otherwise, and it stops on its own rather than looping.

- **Model and effort per conversation**

    With what it is costing, or how much of your plan it has used, shown as it works.

Claude Code has to be the native install, the one that puts claude in ~/.local/bin. An npm install leaves a .cmd shim on Windows, which cannot be started the way the agent runs it.

On Windows, install OpenCode natively with Chocolatey, Scoop, npm or its release binary. A copy installed only inside WSL is not visible to the native CloudTerm desktop app.

**Terminal**

- Split panes in any arrangement, with zoom and fullscreen
- Tabs you can name, colour and group, restored on the next launch
- 36 themes, or pick the colours yourself
- Find in scrollback with regex, and clickable links
- Broadcast input to every session at once
- Session recording and one click screenshots

**Connections**

- SSH, telnet and serial in the same window
- Jump hosts for anything behind a bastion
- SOCKS5, SOCKS4 and HTTP proxies, saved once and used by any connection: terminals, SFTP, port forwards and remote desktops
- Passwords, keys, SSH agent, certificates and Windows Hello keys held in the TPM
-   2FA prompts handled properly
- Automatic reconnect after a drop or a laptop waking up

**Files and networking**

- Full SFTP manager: recursive transfers, resume, conflict handling, drag and drop
- Edit remote files in your own editor, uploaded on every save
- Port forwarding: local, remote and dynamic SOCKS5, with live traffic counters
- Remote desktops: RDP and VNC in a pane, tunnelled through SSH

**Organisation**

- Folders and colour coded tags across the whole host list
- Snippets with prompted values, and packages that run a series of them
- Instant search over names, addresses and tags
- Import your existing SSH config in one step

**Security**

- Encrypted vault for every credential, behind an optional opening password
- Host key verification on every connection and every hop
- Free cloud sync, encrypted on your machine before it is uploaded
- Encrypted backups that move your whole setup to another machine
- Activity log of every connection made and every change

CLOUD SYNC

## Free cloud sync, for everyone

Hosts, folders, keys, snippets, trusted host keys and terminal settings, encrypted on your machine before they ever leave and restored the moment you sign in somewhere else.

Free with a CloudBlast account, whether or not you host a single server with us.

[Get a free account](https://console.cloudblast.io/)

Already a CloudBlast customer? Your servers appear in the host list on their own, ready to connect.

**macOS**

[Apple silicon (M1 and later)](https://github.com/BradPerbs/cloudterm/releases/latest/download/CloudTerm-arm64.dmg) [Intel](https://github.com/BradPerbs/cloudterm/releases/latest/download/CloudTerm-x64.dmg)

**Windows**

[Installer, x64 (recommended)](https://github.com/BradPerbs/cloudterm/releases/latest/download/CloudTerm-Setup-x64.exe) [Portable, x64](https://github.com/BradPerbs/cloudterm/releases/latest/download/CloudTerm-x64.exe)

**Linux**

[AppImage, x64](https://github.com/BradPerbs/cloudterm/releases/latest/download/CloudTerm-x86_64.AppImage)

On Windows you can install and update it from a terminal instead:

```
winget install CloudBlast.CloudTerm
```

[Browse all releases on GitHub](https://github.com/BradPerbs/cloudterm/releases)

**Build from source**

The whole source is on GitHub. Clone it, install and run:

```
git clone https://github.com/BradPerbs/cloudterm.git
cd cloudterm
npm install
npm run dev
```

Build a portable executable into dist/:

```
npm run build
```

The AI agent drives whichever CLI is already installed and signed in on your machine. If you want to use OpenCode and do not have it yet, install the opencode CLI and add a provider with opencode auth login. CloudTerm reads those credentials in place; it never copies or stores them.

To use a local model, start the server you already run and put its address in Settings, Assistant. LM Studio listens on http://localhost:1234/v1, Ollama on http://localhost:11434/v1 and llama.cpp on http://localhost:8080/v1, and anything that speaks the OpenAI API works. Pick a model with tool support, since the assistant works by calling tools rather than by writing text.

**Tech stack**

A desktop app, not a web wrapper around a shell.

Electron · React · xterm.js · ssh2 · IronRDP (WebAssembly) · noVNC · Tailwind · Vite · Claude Agent SDK · Codex SDK · OpenCode SDK

**Fair-code licence**

The source is open to read, and the software is free to use, modify and share, at work or anywhere else. Selling it, or putting any part of its code into something you charge for, needs a commercial licence from CloudBlast, which is usually just a matter of asking.

**Community**

Yes. CloudTerm is free to download and use, at home and at work, and the whole source is on GitHub. Cloud sync is free too, with a free CloudBlast account.

No. CloudTerm connects to any host you like, on any provider. If you do have CloudBlast servers, they appear in the host list on their own once you sign in.

Windows, macOS on both Apple silicon and Intel, and Linux as an AppImage.

Claude Code for Anthropic models, Codex for OpenAI models, Grok Build for xAI, Kimi Code for Moonshot, and OpenCode for any provider you have already configured. CloudTerm drives the CLI on your machine with your own account, so you use whatever plan you already pay for. You can also point it at a model running on your own computer.

No. It asks before it changes anything. Commands that only look can go on an allow list, and there is a stricter or a looser mode if you want one.

Keys and passwords live in an encrypted vault behind an optional opening password. Cloud sync encrypts everything on your machine before it is uploaded, and host keys are verified on every connection and every hop.

That is the idea. SSH, telnet and serial, a full SFTP manager, port forwarding and RDP or VNC all live in the same window on the same connection.

Yes. CloudTerm is fair-code: free to use, modify and share anywhere, including commercially. You only need a licence from us to sell it or ship its code inside something you charge for.

Yes. Point the assistant at a model running on your own machine, LM Studio, Ollama, llama.cpp or anything else that speaks the OpenAI API, and nothing leaves the computer. Pick a model with tool support, since the assistant works by calling tools.
