What is Traefik?

Traefik (pronounced "traffic") is an open-source edge router and reverse proxy designed for cloud-native environments. It acts as the entry point for all your services, automatically routing incoming requests to the correct backend based on rules you define - or that it discovers on its own from your container orchestrator.

Unlike traditional reverse proxies like Nginx or HAProxy that require manual configuration files, Traefik watches your infrastructure and adapts its routing dynamically. When a new container spins up, Traefik detects it and starts routing traffic to it automatically.
